Stampede, new patio rules & summer updates

I hope you're all enjoying the summer so far! It was incredible to see so many people out at the Calgary Stampede, with so many events going on in all four quadrants of the city. I love the Stampede and how it showcases our city's values - community spirit, volunteerism, hard work and fun times with family and friends.

I attended a lot of great events - Trinity Place Foundation's Stampede Breakfast, the Erin Woods Community's Stampede Breakfast, Greater Forest Lawn 55+'s Stampede Breakfast, Ramsay's Stampede Party and the Best of the East Stampede Breakfast, just to name a few. If you're interested in seeing photos they're available in my gallery.

I was also really excited to announce our government's new policy for patios. The policy means there are fewer restrictions for licensed restaurants and bars in Alberta around their patio's size and design. This allows them to more flexibly cater to the uniqueness of their neighbourhoods and customers. This is part of the government's work in modernizing liquor regulations to better serve Albertans.
