Spring updates

Spring updates from Honourable Joe Ceci, MLA for Calgary-Fort

I hope you have all had a safe and comfortable winter. It’s hard to believe nearly a year has passed since I was elected as your MLA for Calgary- Fort. I’m excited to share with you that I attended an International Peace Pow Wow in February and received an honourary Blackfoot name -Aakakistaki, which means ‘Many Offerings’. I also attended some great local events to celebrate the Chinese New Year and to welcome the Year of the Monkey. I’m grateful for the many things to celebrate and look forward to in our province’s vibrant communities.

To date, there are many exciting new projects and collaborations happening within Calgary-Fort’s communities.  Here’s a couple examples:

The Alex Community Food Centre – In partnership with Community Food Centres Canada, The Alex will open a new Community Food Centre in Forest Lawn this coming summer. This will be the first food centre of its kind in Alberta and will focus on delivering innovative health and social services. For more information, please

Music Mile – This collaborative place-making musical project kicked off in January and runs from Inglewood through East Village and various locations along 9th Ave SE. For more information, please

I’m fortunate to have worked with so many great people over the past nine months. I am humbled by the amount of hard work people put in to help our Calgary-Fort communities thrive. I will continue to do my best each day to leverage that support.

As always, our office is available to assist you with any questions or concerns you might have. Please do not hesitate to give us a call, send us an email or drop by and see us during regular business hours. We look forward to having more opportunities to work and connect with you all.

(Hon.) Joe Ceci
